Kalamazoo's State Theatre has been a fixture in downtown Kalamazoo since 1927, and has survived to attract a wide variety of performers. It is one of the few remaining "atmospheric" movie palaces in the United States. Thanks to seriously good theatre design, the State has fantastic acoustics. Renowned architect John Eberson designed the theatre to create the feel of a Spanish garden. You’ve never seen a show anywhere else like this.
